What a difference a day makes! After yesterday’s wild waves and whipping winds, today’s swimming conditions were nothing short of perfect. Nature has a way of surprising us, and this morning’s gentle transformation of Bannow Beach was a testament to that.
The Weather
- Temperature: 14°C (57°F)
- Wind: Southwesterly 6 mph, gusting to 8 mph
- Feels like: 15°C (48°F)
The contrast with yesterday couldn’t have been more striking. The warm southwesterly breeze, barely reaching 6 mph, felt more like a gentle caress compared to yesterday’s robust 25 mph gusts. At 14°C, with the wind chill making it feel warmer at 15°C, it was an unexpectedly mild October morning.
The Experience 🌊
Once again, I had the privilege of having the entire beach to myself – a personal sanctuary where the land meets the sea.
The water seemed to welcome me differently today, feeling noticeably warmer than previous dips.
Perhaps it’s actually warmer, or maybe my body is gradually adapting to these daily immersions? Either way, the sensation was delightful.
These daily dips are becoming more than just a morning ritual – they’re turning into a lesson in mindfulness and environmental appreciation.
Each day brings its own unique conditions, its own challenges, and its own rewards.
Reflections 🤔
It’s fascinating how the same stretch of coastline can present such different faces from one day to the next. Yesterday’s wild, surfable waves have given way to today’s gentle swells, reminding me of the dynamic nature of our coastal environments.
These daily observations are becoming an invaluable part of Our Eco Journey, helping me build a deeper connection with:
- The changing moods of the sea
- The subtle shifts in weather patterns
- The rhythms of coastal life
Though I had to tear myself away sooner than I might have liked, the brief time spent in the embrace of the sea this morning has set a perfect tone for the day ahead.
These “short but sweet” encounters with nature are proving to be the ideal way to start each day.
As this daily ritual continues, each dip adds another chapter to our ongoing eco-journey, teaching us about the ever-changing nature of our coastal environment and our place within it. 🌊✨
