The Early Bird Catches the Magic ✨
Clocks went back and so did I to the sea—it really has become addictive. When I awoke at 6 AM and checked my weather app, it showed a chilly 4°C (feels like 2°C) 🥶.
The only saving grace? It was too early for swimming. I hoped sunrise would bring warmer temperatures, and it did… marginally!
A Moment of Pure Serenity 🌅
By the time I reached the water’s edge at 7:54 AM (according to my watch’s swim tracker), the air had warmed to a ‘balmy’ 5°C. But what made this morning special wasn’t the temperature—it was the perfect alignment of calm seas, the rising sun breaching the horizon, and that indescribable sense of peace.
The magic of the moment kept me in the water longer than usual. After all, it is Sunday!
A Chance Encounter 👋
Post-dip, wrapped snugly in my fleece-lined coat, I met one of the regular swimming ladies about to start her morning ritual. We shared a wonderful conversation about the transformative power of these early morning dips.
She spoke of the magical effects on her health, and I could only nod in agreement. Even after just eight consecutive days, I’m experiencing noticeable benefits: lightness of foot, better balance, and improved focus.
Reflections on Day 8 💭
I don’t know when this streak of eight consecutive dips will end, but I do know this: my life has changed for the better by being here and embracing this practice.
The video below captures just a glimpse of this morning’s magic, though some things simply must be experienced to be truly understood.
