A short post today… Actually, I always think that when I sit down to write these blog posts, but then I go off on a tangent, and before you know it, I’ve written a full article. Well, let’s see where this one takes us!

Even though it’s a bank holiday in Ireland, some habits don’t take days off. I’ve been sleeping better and longer since starting my early morning sea dips, but this morning was different.

Rather than waiting for dawn’s first light, I found myself up at 4:10 AM after a precise 4 hours and 59 minutes of sleep (thank you, watch sleep tracker, for that delightfully specific detail 😊).

Dawn Chorus Calls 🎵

After some pre-dawn administrative work at my computer, the morning birds served as nature’s alarm clock, signaling it was beach time.

In my usual efficient morning routine, I was ready to head out in minutes—but then had a better thought: why not check if Helen was awake and wanted to join?

She was, and she did!
